POTD - 5/1/08

This wasn't really what I had in mind for this pink chair. I invisioned a toddler with a tutu in a field. Well I guess you can say I have the toddler part right. This is Piper our 11 week old Jack Russell. I promised a few people I'd get some of these up, so here they are.

I was running out of daylight fast!

It's a Girl!!!

We brought our little girl home yesterday. It was a great weekend! We went down to PA for a long weekend and I met up with a great group of girls for a photography get-together. Julie (justjulie) here from 2peas was there and I can now say I finally met a pea! :)

We drove down to Delaware to pick up Piper. I was able to keep the secret for a whole month and when we got there Schyler was so confused as to what was going on. LOL! It still hadn't registered with her even with Piper jumping all over her.

Piper settled in and slept for about 4 hours until we hit a rest stop. We let her run around on the hill. We still had 3 more hours before we arrived home but she basically was like having a baby in the car as soon as the car started moving she fell back to sleep.

Piper is a very cheerful little girl, she is so excited to see people and greets everyone that came to see her with a big wag and a huge kiss! Here she's settling in for a long road trip.

Didn't take long and she was out!
Today was her vet appointment. She got her second set of shots. Unfortunately she had an allergic reaction and we had to run her back. Her eyes swelled shut and her nose and mouth really swelled too. The vet said sometimes that happens. They gave her benadryl and a steroid shot. It's been a few hours now and she's starting to look normal again.

4/4/08 - POTD - Spring

Here's a sure sign of Spring. . . muddy running sneakers! Finally was able to get out on the roads and get a few miles in. DD went with me too. The plan is for her to run in a few 5K races with me. She can handle a mile, no problem, but today we ran 2 and she had a little bit of trouble getting back. I think she did great though considering she's only 9 and it's her first year. She just needs to learn to pace herself instead of worrying about beating mom!

Had to try out one of Leah's textures - I can't wait to get out and shoot more so I can play with these.
I like the color version of this one with the field in the background for some reason.

POTD - 4/2/08 - Spring

Spring, huh. . .yeah, that's funny. No Spring here! The only signs of spring here are man made. My DH has quite the green thumb. He can produce massive beef steak tomatoes, x-large green, yellow and red peppers. Last year he successfully grew brussell sprouts. Due to the fact that he has been out of work with a back injury since October and it has been a very long winter, he decided to start growing early this year. Within 2 weeks, this is what he's got so far. These litterly grew overnight. . . one day nothing, the next day bam!

I just have to say that Broadband is a wonderful thing! This post took 2 minutes to load - amazing! Dial-up is history!
